The Motion Picture Association of America, representing Hollywood studios, won a $111 million judgment against file-sharing site TorrentSpy for copyright infringement, NewTeeVee reports. The fine levied was the maximum allowed by the Copyright Act. Whether the studios will get the money is another matter; TorrentSpy owner Valence Media shut down the site in March and has filed for bankruptcy protection.
