NBC.com Streams Episodes on iPhone, iPod Touch
NBC.com is making episodes of “The Office” and “30 Rock” available for streaming on Apple iPhone and iPod Touch products, Silicon Alley Insider says. Earlier this week, NBC Universal announced it would make episodes of its TV shows available for sale through Microsoft’s Zune player after it pulled its content from iTunes, citing pricing disagreements. The iPhone and Touch content streams commercial-free QuickTime 3GP formats of the episodes.

TorrentSpy to Pay $111 Mil for Copyright Infringement
The Motion Picture Association of America, representing Hollywood studios, won a $111 million judgment against file-sharing site TorrentSpy for copyright infringement, NewTeeVee reports. The fine levied was the maximum allowed by the Copyright Act. Whether the studios will get the money is another matter; TorrentSpy owner Valence Media shut down the site in March and has filed for bankruptcy protection.

Seesmic to Bring Video Comments to MoveableType, TypePad
Video blogging service Seesmic unveiled a new plug-in for TypePad and Moveable Type blogs that allows visitors to add video comments, Beet.tv reports. The plug-in is expected to appear later this month; a similar one was already released on WordPress earlier this month.

Live Universe Acquires Meevee
MySpace founder Brad Greenspan's LiveUniverse bought start-up Meevee, which pairs online TV listings and video, for an undisclosed price, reports TechCrunch. Meevee, which has raised $25 million in venture capital, has been going through staff layoffs in the last year.

Turner is folding its SuperDeluxe.com comedy site for young men into the larger AdultSwim.com, and much of the SuperDeluxe staff will be laid off, PaidContent reports. The sites had been increasingly targeting the same audience.

NBCU Sells Episodes Through Microsoft’s Zune
NBC Universal will make episodes of its TV shows available for download though Microsoft’s Zune media player, TVWeek.com reports. Episodes will be available for download for $1.99. Last year NBCU did not renew its deal with Apple to sell its shows over the popular iTunes service, citing pricing concerns. NBCU’s programming was available on iTunes for $1.99 as well.

Webby, People’s Voice Winners Announced
The Webby Awards revealed the winners for its annual digital media and marketing awards, TVWeek.com observes. For each category, the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences selects nominees and Webby Award winners; a public vote decided the People’s Voice Award recipients. In the viral video category, those in the know selected “Here Comes Another Bubble” for the Webby while the people selected “Chocolate Rain.” The full list of winners is available at WebbyAwards.com. Webby presentations and events are scheduled for June 8-10 in New York.

RedLasso Ropes in 24 Mil Views in April
Although RedLasso is still in private testing and available to just 18,000 testers, it managed to rake in 24 million unique visitors in April, NewTeeVee says. That’s because the site’s business is to let users share broadcast TV clips via embeddable video on their blogs, using a RedLasso player. Testers include the Huffington Post and Perez Hilton.

Fora.tv Raises $4 Mil for Info Vids
Fora.tv, which offers intellectual videos from think tanks and educational institutions, raised $4 million in an A round of venture funding from William Randolph Hearst III, Adobe Ventures and other investors, Beet.tv reports. The money will be used to add content to the site.

Second City to Launch Web Comedy Vids
Another improv troupe is jumping into the online world: Chicago’s Second City is partnering with Media Rights Capital in a comedy venture called "The Second City's Quarantine," the Hollywood Reporter says. The site is expected to have six or seven mini-shows featuring current and alumni talent, with content syndicated across various sites.
